Day 2. Arusha - Serengeti 6-7 hours
The day begins with an included breakfast and travel to Serengeti Naabi gate to arrive at Serengeti National Park. Leaving the highlands behind, the descent into the heart of wild Africa begins through the Olduvai Gorge. Past the gates, the Serengeti awaits with its endless rolling plains full of diverse African animals, stretching into the distance as far as the eye can see. After lunch, the afternoon and evening will be spent in the Seronera Area, which is the richest wildlife habitat in the park. It is named after the Seronera River, which flows through the park, providing a valuable water source to the area. The river attracts a diverse array of wildlife that is representative of most species of animals in the Serengeti. Dinner is provided in the Seronera area as well as an overnight stay at Nyani camp, or as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.
Day 3. Serengeti Plains
After breakfast, venture into all corners of Serengeti’s for a full day game drive. With lunch provided, enjoy a leisurely day while admiring and exploring the diverse wildlife and varied nature of this world heritage site. The day is followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Nyani camp or as per standard type of accommodation and option requested.
Day 4. Serengeti Plains - Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, choose to be one of the few fortunate people who have the chance to glide in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at supplementary cost by pre-arrangement). Floating silently above the awakening bush across rivers and numerous small villages, get the most expansive panoramic views of the whole Serengeti plain, all the while spotting wildlife from above.
OR
Choose to do the morning game drive instead, and enjoy the safari on land until late afternoon. Upon exiting Serengeti National Park, the driver will then start heading towards the Nogorongoro Crater where a lunch will be provided. Arrive at Simba A camp in the Ngorongoro Coservation Area in the late evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5. Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, the day begins early from Simba A camp with a 600-meter descent into the crater to view its vast wildlife. Supported by a year-round supply of water and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a varied array of animals which include herds of wildebeest, zebras, baboons, buffalo, elands, warthogs, hippos and giant African elephants. A unique draw of this picturesque park is its dense population of hyenas, jackals, and cheetahs roaming around, as well as the elusive leopard, which typically require a highly-trained eye to spot. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic birds can be seen at Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner of the crater. After the game drive and picnic lunch, drive back to Arusha in time for dinner and an overnight stay at Christina House.
*Tipping is recommended at about $20 for the driver, and $15 for the chef per day, payable at the end of the safari.
