Our Story

In 2013, after working with a volunteer organization, GIVE Volunteers, for nearly two years as a climbing guide on Mt. Kilimanjaro, David reached out to GIVE to express his desire to start his own safari company; however his motivations went far beyond just building his own business.
“So far I’m coming from a poor family, I wish to be able to give job opportunities, education and focus to many of the youths. I know this is going to be an inspiration... I will be able to show them the real ways of any successful life, starting from the bottom.”
In partnership with GIVE Volunteers, David finally realized his dream in 2016, founding Green Paw Adventures. Green Paw has since taken hundreds of people on safari and to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Their mission is to provide fair wages and quality job opportunities to local Tanzanians while also directing a percentage of profits towards community development initiatives. Thanks to David’s passion and commitment, Green Paw Adventures now serves as a sustainable model for grassroots tourism in Tanzania.

Our Team

We have rounded up the best in the business to join our team. Green Paw is owned and operated as a local licensed tour company.
Our safari tour guides have been raised in the area and know more about the wildlife than any book can teach you. They have an incredible eye for hidden animals and are committed to giving you an interactive experience up close. They are passionate about sharing facts of the wildlife you see as well as educating people on conservation.
The Kilimanjaro team are not just guides, they are your support system. There will be an average of 2-3 Green Paw staff for each climber. Your porters, cooks, lead guides, and assistant guides provide all the support needed for a safe and enjoyable journey. Lead guides are Wilderness First Responder certified and have summited Kilimanjaro over a hundred times over their years working on the mountain. They have years of experience and encourage you through every step up the mountain to ensure a strong mental state to get to the top.

Our Impact

We care about giving back to the community we came from. 10% of all profits go towards providing education opportunities in our local community and protecting the natural wildlife and environment in Tanzania.
Real social change happens with stewardship of sustainable tourism. Green Paw partners with GIVE Volunteers to support community projects focusing on empowering youth through education. Funds are allocated to building schools for more accessible education and providing scholarships for higher education to students in Tanzania. We are also advocating for conservation and poaching awareness to protect our local wildlife. Ask us about environmental issues we are facing here in Tanzania and we are happy to share!
