Total Days: 7 | Climb Days: 5

The Marangu Route is one of the most popular routes for the ideal trek time and opportunities to acclimatize while enjoying the spectacular views from the mountainside. Climbers will stay in huts on this route, as opposed to tent camping. It is likely that you will be accompanied by many other climbers from all over the world, with a culture of mutual support among everyone throughout the trek. With the option to add a day, it's a 5–6-day trek through six different climate zones where the incline is the most gradual of all the routes. While this route is often considered the "easiest", the challenge of the trek should not be downplayed. Our guides and porters are prepared to make sure you are supported the whole way through and to guide you up to the summit at Uhuru Peak.

Our Guides and Porters

There will be an average of 5- 7 Green Paw staff for each climber. Your porters, cooks, and lead guides provide all the support needed for a safe and enjoyable journey.

Your rucksack is carried by a porter, and a tent will be set up for you by the time you arrive at the end of the day. You will enjoy a hearty meal and warm beverages provided by your cooks to guarantee full energy throughout your journey. They have years of experience and encourage you through every step up the mountain to ensure a strong mental state to get to the top.

Guides' and porters' health and well-being is important to us. We pay them a higher wage than the average tour company to compensate for their unwavering hard work. You can rest assured that you will be escorted by staff who are well taken care of in order to best take care of you.

SAFETY ON YOUR CLIMB

Guides are highly trained with Wilderness First Responder certifications in order to be able to provide first aid for any illnesses or injuries. Altitude sickness is managed through preventative measures. Every trek is accompanied by an oxygen tank along with comprehensive risk management plans for any emergency situations.
